The HAV Top 5 Vegan Restaurants in Europe

One of the perks of running a vegan brand and needing to visit warehouses, exhibitions, stockists and suppliers etc etc all over Europe is scouring the booming vegan food scene and narrowing down our favourite hot spots. These eateries were either recommended to us by customers or we stumbled across them and while there are many more amazing places for us to try we definitely suggest checking these out.

1.
Ark
Copenhagen, Denmark

Our top spot has to go to Ark in Copenhagen which has just taken vegan cuisine to another level. This place defiantly lives up to it’s Green Michelin Star and you will feel your taste buds taken on an epic journey of mouth watering plant-based dishes which are all beautifully presented . The cool Scandinavian furnishings and first class service all help to add to the experience and there’s no way you can go to Copenhagen without visiting Ark.

Price – Mid to high
Don’t miss – Smoked ricotta

2.
Gauthier Soho
London, UK

With its French chef (Alexis Gauthier) at the helm Gauthier is certainly shining a light on vegan fine dining and every dish is packed full of bold flavours. The restaurant provides a seasonal tasting menu with the best possible ingredients (British where possible), all served in a chic Soho Townhouse where the staff really make you feel special

Price – High
Don’t miss – Truffle tortellini with golden enoki mushrooms and truffle cream.

3.
Växthuset
Stockholm, Sweden

Another example of top vegan food packaged in a fine dining experience. We definitely suggest going for the tasting menu and while you may not leave feeling totally stuffed the way the restaurant has balanced the wine and beer against the menu is a real experience.

Price – High
Don’t miss – The five course tasting menu

4.
Deer Mama
Amsterdam, Netherlands

Now this is our kind of place with hearty vegan burgers and a great buzzy atmosphere. You could certainly rock up here in your HAV Eden V2’s and nobody would raise an eyebrow! Another huge bonus is the cake bar here so when you’re done with your burgers load up on some Oreo Fudge Brownie to take home!

Price – Mid
Don’t miss – The BBQ Cheeseburger with curly fried (what more do you need in life).

5.
Rifugio Romano
Rome, Italy

We really loved this place and we were desperate to find an authentic Italian restaurant with a great vegan menu. Located in the heart of Rome close to the train station the interior feels cosy and inviting and of course the wines are out of this world. Stick to the house red though for a good value full bodied wine! The dishes were substantial and the Carbonara and Tiramisu were out of this world.

Price – Mid to high
Don’t miss – Booking! (we went early without a booking and they told us we were lucky to get in)
