In this first post of our Spotlight Series we focus on our Eden V2 Sustainable Sneaker and explore all the key features and background story behind the design.
Eden was originally introduced into our SS20 collection and while the original shoe was of course 100% Vegan and packed with Sustainable features the design was based around a more aggressive sole and an unlined tongue. We sold out of the White colours within a few weeks and soon realised we had a best seller on our hands so we refined the design slightly for the Fall 20 season by slimming down the sole to make it a little more contemporary and added a padded tongue to increase the comfort levels.
Like all our Sustainable Sneakers we produce Eden V2 in our Ethical Portugal factory based just north of Porto and we make this sneaker with a special water based glue which means the whole sneaker can be declared 100% Vegan. This sneaker is also fully recyclable and thanks to our Recycle Projekt we can fully breakdown the shoe and turn it into a new sole to be used in future production.
Eden V2 features a recycled rubber sole, an innovative eco microfibre upper material which looks and feels like a normal grained leather (but with the benefits of been OEKO-TEX certified meaning the material is free from hazardous chemicals and produced in an environmentally friendly manner, plus the material is breathable and has a high abrasion resistance), a breathable and antibacterial lining made from recycled PET and Corn Fiber, an insole made from recycled cork and foam, 100% organic cotton laces and finally we ensure the rest of the components are also made from recycled materials.
As we look ahead to SS21 and Fall 21 we will of course be adding new colours and updates into the collection such as this Eden V2 in White/Grey/Orange
